the wedding - SiK

The Summer In Kansas shawl... all that hard work paid off in the end. It looked gorgeous with Beth's dress, it was delicate and beautiful and complimented her perfectly. Honestly, it was a good thing I did it exactly the way I did because it lined up just right with the dress and sat just right on her shoulders.
I'm told that it wasn't just mother's maker's love that made it so pretty in my eyes - there were many many compliments on it all evening. She and Ben tested the wedding ring shawl tradition and it did, in fact, pass through their rings. Hooray! Being that the bride is of Irish descent, it was nice to have that little tradition in there for her. :)
I have pictures but I haven't gotten them up online yet... we had no electricity all day today. I'll post them ASAP and you will all see how gorgeous Beth looked, with and without her shawl. :)

Now, I'm going to do something very simple, like a kitchen cotton washcloth, to soothe my brain before starting another piece of lace... the Gloriana scarf from KnitPicks. (I need to order size 5 tips for my Options set - the bamboo straights I have are way too dull.)

Edit (3:09PM, 31 December 2007) - So, I've finally put up my own pictures. Here they are:
