sweater advice

Okay, so, bearing in mind the following variables, I'd love a sweater pattern suggestion and some answers to the questions that follow. Any help you can offer would be great.

I want to make a sweater for myself. Something warm and cozy, but also reasonably fashionable so that I can wear it pretty much anywhere. The criteria are thus:
1. It must flatter a plus-sized woman.
2. I must be able to make it from Malabrigo.

So, what sort of yardage am I looking at? How many skeins should I need? Any patterns coming to mind to suggest? Let me know.

In other news, FedEx is saying that it's going to be yet another day until I get my KnitPicks order. They were originally estimating me having it by tomorrow, but I just checked the site and it says the 21st. This is itching me because they were in NORTHBOROUGH this morning. I work in WESTBOROUGH. My package (with the new needles!) was mere miles away...

Edit (11:20PM) - Amber is going to lend me a book of Manos del Uruguay patterns, so I think I'm on the right track. Also, I tried the KnitPicks needles ([info]witchypoo_lynne/Lynne has hers already). I'm ordering the binder and plastic sleeves ASAP.

fairly useless

Hi, Jena! As you know, I am Sweater Impaired, so it's not much use asking me about patterns. I applaud your choice of yarn, however. It was great to see you and your feet this evening.
